Björn Wunderlich is Head of Private Markets Lifecycle at Bank Julius Baer in Zurich, where he leads the lifecycle function for a private markets platform covering approximately USD 6 billion, around 4,000 clients and more than 70 funds.

His work focuses on the practical design, scaling and automation of private markets operating models in a wealth management environment. At Julius Baer, he has been closely involved in transforming a largely Excel-based private markets setup into an institutional operating platform supporting fund administration, monitoring, reporting and client distribution across multiple fund types and jurisdictions. He led the selection and implementation of eFront in 2019, including the migration of USD 1.5 billion of commitments, and has driven the digitalization of subscription processes from paper-based workflows to automated digital processing.

His responsibilities have expanded to include investment manager responsibilities for private markets funds. In addition, his team is being positioned to act as portfolio manager for a new discretionary mandate combining private markets, hedge funds, and evergreen funds.

Before joining Julius Baer, Björn worked in private equity operations and product design at Executive Wealth Management, covering carried interest and co-investment plans, application development, offshore Scrum delivery and ISAE3402 process controls.

He passed the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst examinations and holds a master’s-level degree in business administration from the University of Zurich, with a focus on management accounting, corporate finance and business information systems.
